Yay a new post... Shaweet!

Well it's been hectic lately and very hard to find time to blog. I'm loving Colorado and defs would move here if it weren't super far from alex and my family! Some of my friends and I went hiking last friday! The view was beautiful until I slip and fell all while huffing and puffing because I couldnt make it up the mountain due to lack of physical excellence. This work week has been amazing including squirrel hunting with the 5 year old boys and busting out laughing because kids are hysterical. Project is going great but it was super sad to miss my moms 50 th birthday. I got a wonderful thoughtful care package from my friend Jenny back home. Thanks Jenny. Much love to the fam and I miss and love you alex!

Whoa kids!

So the first week of my kindergardeners is almost over! The Kidies are the funniest things since sliced bread! A few quotes from the whole cares kids:
" I'm from Alabama, Alabama America "
" I'm Isaiah and I'm a prophet"
10 minutes after getting to the bathroom... " I'm still going p- o- t- t- y."
" how old are you miss nikkie? ... 6? 9?????"
But anyways the kids are a huge blast and I'm having a great time with them. I got to Skype my parents yesterday and they are showing the house today so keep them in your prayers! I will appolagize for not sending letters but I have ran out of stamps as well as money. This weekend aka tomorrow a couple of us are either going to the drive in theater or for a hike! Miss home and love all! God bless!

May as well call me Sacajawea for conquering the Poudre

Today was insanity. For some reason God didn't give be the ability nor the nerve to white water raft. It was amazing and so beautiful to see the mountains on the river. I was awesomely placed into stable raft with Allison, mike, Kristen, Kelly, Kelsey, Amanda, and of course my awesome athletic self! We got an amazing guide named Paul. He was blessed in many ways! Let's just say he knew the Poudre. It stank ranchn to high heaven. These girls are all a blast in a glass. We all ate some nummy mcalisters. I really could have used a quarter pickle slice with a side of allison's cookies. When we all washed off the Poudre stench we decided to go to this fantabulous hole in the wall called ally cat coffee shop. It was nice. Then we went to the kappa delta house and here we sit. Such a blast all day today. However I'm really missing my mom and family especially since her 50 th is Tuesday! Love umom.

Colorado has mountains?

Today was absolutely amazing! Work was filled with AstroTurf, laughs, swinging, and ice cream. After work a few of us girls decided to go to the mountains and climb them:) we went to a fun Mexican restaurant with the best waiter named Edgar! After dinner we explored the mountain side and took breath taking pictures of God's creations. Check Facebook for new pictures!

Setting up the class!

Today we found out our room assignments and our fellow teachers! I am with the younger kindergartners and we decided to make our theme Land Before Time. I really hope that God opens their hearts and also reminds us teachers that we can learn from them as well. These girls are amazing and I am so blessed to be living with them. Today God specifically used my friend Kels to remind me that our life stories are sometimes not perfect but each bump in the road is for a reason and God teaches us things from then thus creating a stronger faith. Thank you God for these new amazing friends that you have used to speak truth into my life.

A day of one on ones and a great bible run

Today was an amazing day getting to know all the girls better and just digging deeper into each others lives. Our group of Kristen, Caley, kaitin, Tyler, and Allison. After eating a yummy lunch at our bible study leaders house we all went back and had a group study. Laying in hammocks and loving the outside. The night ended so nice with a run by campus and a beautiful view of the mountains! Can't wait to go to our first day of work tomorrow.

The most exciting scavenger hunt known to man!

Today our groups went into the town of Ft Collins in order to find some famous things around town. The coolest moment was when we were supposed to find a local band so we started looking. We ended up running into a ma who called himself the majestic or something like that. He was surrounded by some bongo drums and a plethora of metal scraps he claimed to have found in the trash from the local art students. Once he began to play it actually sounded amazing! Project is going amazing and the girls are super sweet. I met a wonderful girl named Kristen who was really open and extremely caring when we shared our story. I'm loving Colorado but missing being in NC with Alex and Oscar! Love you alex!

Orientation day

Today was a wonderful day to get to know people on a much deeper level. We shared our stories of coming to Christ. It was an amazing experience to see all these girls come together with such different backgrounds. God is so good and I'm super excited to get to know the college campus tonight!
